This Shi... is real (Like Jaylo from the block).
Researching on the #coronavirus because so many people here in the US are downplaying this #virus. And, I am like nah? This shit is serious.
DOWNPLAYING
People are saying, "oh it is just like a regular flu." Or even, "only a tiny percentage of the population will get it."
I DON'T CARE IF IT IS A COMMON COLD? THEY ARE STILL LEARNING MORE...THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW ALL OF IT.
Tell you what! I don't want to be that tiny percentage. I read somewhere that the corona-virus will only affect only around 2 percent. Two percent does not sound bad? Right? However, this corona-virus is a combination of the common cold and SARS. Who the crap wants to be sick like that? SARS!!! (I don’t recall that being simple). #sars
BEING SICK SUCKS. NO THANKS
Do you remember SARS? Yes, you likely do because you are still alive. But many people who died from SARS are not here to remember. They apparently died because they were fragile and or had a poor immune system. People, as you know from the news, are dying from the corona virus. When do we take it seriously? How many people need to die? Protect yourself and your loved ones by not getting it.
CANCER
Keep in mind if you get ill from this virus then you will spread it to those people who cannot fight it off as well as you. It could be your grandparents, a small fragile child and or people struggling with a delicate immune system (which would have been my mother when she was alive and suffering with terminal cancer). #coronavirus kills.
CALL IN SICK IF YOUR CO-WORKERS ARE SICK AND ATTENDING WORK
I highly suggest taking this seriously especially if you are traveling, know someone who is traveling and or are working with sick people at work who have been traveling from areas that are seriously devastated with this virus.
You need to take it upon yourself to avoid sick people at your workplace. YOUR COMPANY GIVES A RAT ASS about you and likely thinks that 2 percent is nothing too. BUT once that craps starts spreading into the big us cities...IT IS TOO LATE. (go buy sanitizer today). Carry it like your water bottle.
HANDCUFF YOUR HANDS
Oh, and while you are at it. Stop touching your face. And wash your hands over and over.
ATM
I have a HUGE bottle of sanitizer in my car (unless my car is being vandalized as we are speaking) and I use it after I have visited a grocery store (touching the cart and ATM), gas station and the gym. I am not risking other people's health (or mine).
YOUR LOVED ONES
This is not about your health. It is about the fragile people that you interact with every day. We need to watch out for everyone.
DENTIST OR DOCTOR MASKS
With this, what to do? Well, go to a hardware store and buy a respirator. Not a surgical mask. This article explains it well. Make sure it fits snugly and don’t remove it at all while out in public. Not even to breath or scratch your face.
BLOCKING ONLY PEOPLE WHO TALK WITH FOOD IN THEIR MOUTHS
The regular surgical masks apparently are great to avoid having someone spit food into your mouth or liquid (gross) but it does not stop airborne particles; virus particles from when they sneeze or cough (and remember we still have those people lacking manners - and they don't cover their mouths).
FREELANCER LIFE
As for now, I am still visiting local cafes while I work as a freelancer but I am so hesitant when I touch my face. I am already using the back of my hand or arm. But I am wondering how many times I have already touched my face and not recalled. (I think I am headed to my car to sanitize - OCD now).
Good luck everyone. Research conducted on February 27, 2020 (while masks are becoming scarce online).
