The best online marketing company for a small business is one that has a sales person behind the computer. I mean you want the best chances of selling your product and there is a LOT of competition out there targeting your same audience.

I know and you know that your ultimate goal is to make money selling your service or product so you can look as professional and successful as the men in the images.


Okay maybe you don't like to dress like that but you might want enough funds from your business to enjoy traveling and more free time?


So this is how it goes. The big problemo.


There are too many freelancers or marketing agencies that hire marketers that have no experience in sales. And the sad part is that you will never know the experience of that SEO or marketing specialist handling your account; since you will most likely talk to the middle manager most of the time.


THEY NEED INSIDER INFORMATION

You need a sales person. Someone who can either understand your audience from first hand experience (maybe they went to Cuba and you are travel agency selling trips to Cuba) or they are savvy at market research and are actively reading posts on Quora from your target audience.


But most important, you need a marketing company with a salesperson that can envision the pain point of your target audience. (Need more free time to do things I love).

Even better if you can include a search optimized phrase with the seed keyword - for ranking reasons. For example, my headline has the seed word "marketing."


However, I decided to use a long-tail phrase; since Google is now giving more weight on longer phrases in regards to ranking. My headline, "Online Marketing Companies for Small Business" is an expensive phrase to bid on; as high as $40 cost per click. Yet, I have a better chance at ranking for it organically over time since the difficulty is not so high. Yet! So this phrase is for the taking!


SALESPERSON BEHIND A COMPUTER - COPYWRITER

When deciding on choosing marketing companies for your small business, it is my insider suggestion to focus on hiring someone who has at least 5+ years in sales and not behind a computer. Face to face experience and successful at sales and can prove it with past awards. Or something in that nature.


This type of experience will have had them upfront and personal with customers. They may have had a chance to hear complaints of customers and then had multiple chances to solve those problems. And realized they could solve them.





THE SAGA CONTINUES

With online marketing, this is just the start in marketing your small business - winning the click when marketing PPC ads and with the headline and subheadline working together.


It won't make you a millionaire but it will drive a butt load of traffic to your website with pay per click marketing on Google or Facebook (for example).


GOAL IS TO GET LOTS OF TRAFFIC TO YOUR WEBSITE

The more traffic you get the more chance of conversions. As for me, as a "copywriter" marketing consultant, I spend hours and hours perfecting headlines (optimizing client's ads to increase conversions and lower the cost per clicks by almost 50% at times) to get the click on platforms.


BUT NOT JUST ANY TRAFFIC

Which means my free time is spent reading on copywriting, psychology of sales, and headlines to get the click. Not just any click. I don't want curiosity clicks. I want to get traffic that will more likely convert and that comes in the phrases and SEO.


EXPERIENCE OR A GREAT AMOUNT OF EMPATHY CAN HELP

Hire a sales person that has a marketing background but that had first-hand experience in sales and was SUCCESSFUL in closing deals. Don't hire a marketing firm that simply posts ads or creates copy with no amazing value proposition. Hire someone that can understand the pain points of your audience, they can empathize.


CHECK IT OUT ONLINE

A good place to check out their sales experience is to go to a platform like Linkedin and see how many years of experience that particular marketing consultant has. And this is not going to guarantee riches for your business but it will get you closer to perfecting your marketing strategies. This is a tiny part of the puzzle.
